Great Portland St.
The client wanted to completely refurbish the existing office spaces of this 5-storey, steel and masonry structure with filler joist floors and bridge the two separate volumes of the building.

I personally designed all the structural alterations on this development, which include the addition of office space on the existing terrace of the 4th floor, formed in structural steel and clad in zinc, the strengthening of the existing steel elements for the new loads and the addition of usable floor between the two volumes of the existing building formed in lightweight steel deck floors supported by new steel beams.

This project was part of my involvement in a Civil & Structural Engineering Consultancy.
